Meet Leslie Martinez

The Business Mechanic

Fractional Business Manager

I fine-tune business operations with a smooth, streamlined approach

and restore calm, control, and energy to founder/CEO consultants.

My Mission

My mission is to leverage my gifts and talents to positively impact others.

Over 30 years of corporate experience in several industries has honed my ability to look for solutions to inefficiencies that slow down business growth. I love transforming chaos into order!

My Background

Reflecting on my career, I was destined to become a Virtual Business Manager. The seeds were planted as a teenager while working at my father's dental practice. Assisting his Office Manager at the front desk, I came to understand the importance of customer care and saw that organization and processes keep a business operating like a well-oiled machine.

After graduating with a B.A. in Business Administration, I worked in the energy industry. After 10 years, working in a large company lost its appeal, and eventually, I was ready for a change.

An opportunity to become the Business Manager of my husband's small manufacturing business developed. In this position, I managed business operations, created processes, and developed simple automation to improve efficiency. I loved the challenge of learning a new field and new skills!

After 7 years, I returned to work in corporate and gained Executive Assistant experience supporting C-Suite executives. I then spent 10 years in the Human Resources field and received my PHR certification.

A New Chapter

In 2020, I decided to pivot out of corporate and start my business, LM Virtual Services. My values are at the heart of my business - Faith, Positivity, Integrity, Commitment and Honesty.

My unique experience and values are what set me apart from others. It’s my passion to get to know my client and their business. Building on this knowledge, I use my superpowers, organization and system development, to help them grow their business.

My Personal Life

My favorite pastime is reading. I love a good mystery, and a series I particularly enjoy is “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” by Alexander McCall Smith. While fiction is fun, I usually am simultaneously reading a business/personal development book. One of my favorites is the classic “How to Win Friends and Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie.

To counteract the hours of computer sitting, I make time in my daily schedule for Jazzercise which incorporates aerobic dancing and strength training with music and fun. A win-win!

Family is important to me. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson.

    Your Questions Answered

What is the difference between a Virtual Assistant and a Virtual Business Manager?

A Virtual Assistant (VA) is assigned tasks, primarily administrative, to complete for the client.  A Virtual Business Manager (VBM) oversees the day-to-day business operations and strategizes with the client on projects.  The VBM manages the project from start to finish.  Depending on the size of the team, a VBM might manage a VA.

What are your hours of operation?

Business hours are Monday-Thursday between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Central Time and Friday between 8 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Central Time. The office is closed on Saturday and Sunday and all Federal holidays.

What is the best way to communicate with you?

The best way to communicate with me for non-urgent matters is by email. For urgent or time-sensitive matters, a messaging app like Slack, Telegram, or Voxer is recommended during hours of operations.

What is your turn-around time for responding to me?

During my hours of operation, I have time blocks on my schedule to check for messages. All messages will be replied to within 24 business hours during the hours of operation. Messages received outside the hours of operation or on a federal holiday will be addressed on the next business day.

I only need one of the services you provide. Would you work with me?

I would be happy to have a complimentary discovery call with you and discuss your needs. If we are a good fit then I can create a custom package to meet your needs.

How will I be billed for your services?

I use Wave to invoice my clients.

Your initial payment is due before the agreed-upon start date.

You will receive a monthly invoice by email on the 1st of the month. Payment is expected no later than the 15th day of the month.

If the payment is not received, a late fee of 1.5% of the outstanding amount compounded monthly will be charged.

You have the option to pay with a credit card or ACH bank transfer.

Do I need to sign a contract?

Yes, if we decide to work together, I will send you my client agreement. It will need to be signed before the start date.

    How do I get started?

I'm so excited to meet you and learn about your business! Schedule a complimentary discovery call to see if we are a good fit for each other.
